The Notion Club Papers (NCPs) is an unfinished (posthumous) novel by JRR Tolkien. The Notion Club was a fantasy version of The Inklings. A random thought about NCPs

There is, as it stands - as it comes to us, a
gratuitous quality to the Notion Club Papers. Where is it coming from?
Where is it going? It hasn't found its place. Yet it isn't a story. It is about things - almost like an essay.
